LK Systems Snow Melting: Safer and Ice-Free Public Spaces

At LK, we are proud that our snow melting solutions not only keep squares and walkways free from ice, but also help create a safer and more accessible urban environment.

LK Systems snow melting system installed at Godisfabriken square in Gävle

When Gävle Municipality and NCC planned the new Godisfabriken residential development, their ambition was to create a pleasant and sustainable environment throughout the year. 

Our snow melting system has now been installed beneath the development’s large square to keep the surfaces free from snow and ice during the winter.

The installation was carried out by Bravida, with Jim Axner as project manager in Gävle.

“It is about creating safe, accessible surfaces regardless of the season,” says Jim Axner.

Ice-free sweets

As a nod to the history of the site, snow melting was also installed to keep the BRIO sweets free from ice and snow. The site was previously home to a factory with a long history, where products including Läkerol and BRIO were manufactured. A fun, customised solution.
