Customised shaft solutions for Gothia Towers

Renovating around 200 bathrooms required a solution tailored to the specific requirements of Gothia Towers

No standard solution on the market met the project requirements. LK Systems was therefore involved at an early stage, working with the project team to develop a prototype prefabricated shaft module specifically for Gothia Towers. Following testing and further development, production could begin.

With three towers and more than 1,200 rooms in central Gothenburg, Gothia Towers is an important part of the city’s hotel and conference infrastructure. Tower 2 is also home to the five-star Upper House hotel and its exclusive spa.

During the renovation, it was essential to prevent extensive water damage caused by concealed leaks, which had been an issue with previous solutions. The work also had to be completed quickly and efficiently to minimise disruption to hotel operations.

The prefabricated modules have significantly reduced interruptions to the water supply. Each floor now has a factory-built shaft module that simplifies the renovation and enables potential leaks to be detected at an early stage. This allows faults to be addressed before they affect larger parts of the building.

The first phase of the renovation has been completed, and work on the next phase is already under way. LK Systems is proud to have contributed to a safe and efficient renovation at Gothia Towers while helping the project remain within its programme and budget.
